Alan Novick has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1976. He is a solo practitioner who concentrates in two areas; juvenile law and driving issues. He represents parents accused of abuse or neglect in the trial court, in DCFS administrative hearings, and minors charged with delinquent offenses.

Mr. Novick has a contract with the McLean County Public Defender’s Office taking conflicts cases and has filed briefs in about 100 juvenile appeals. He is the co-author of Termination of Parental Rights in Illinois and The Americans With Disabilities Act published in the Child Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association, June, 2006.

Mr. Novick also represents defendants in driving and dui cases and assists individuals whose licenses have been suspended or revoked before the Illinois Secretary of State. Mr. Novick has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1976. He spent three years as an urban planner for Harland Bartholomew and Associates, one of America’s first urban planning firms.

Mr. Novick became corporation counsel of the Town of Normal in 1979 and served in that position until 1982. Since that time Mr. Novick was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Logan County, Illinois where he prosecuted traffic cases including those involving driving under the influence. Mr. Novick also served for six years as a Judge Advocate General with the United States Army Reserve at the 425th Transportation Brigade, Ft. Sheridan, Illinois.

For 20 years Mr. Novick has practiced law with Harold Jennings, concentrating in defense of driving under the influence cases and drivers license reinstatement. Mr. Novick is a member of the Illinois State and McLean County Bar associations. Mr. Novick has been a solo practitioner for the past 12 years.
